The final frontier
10 July 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Hugo Lloris is expected to make Club history tonight by becoming the first Spurs player to start a final in a major international tournament.
Proud captain of Spurs and France, Hugo will lead out Les Bleus in the Euro 2016 Final against Portugal at the Stade de France (8pm UK).
Hugo will become the second player to grace one of football's two biggest showpieces - the European Championship Final or World Cup Final - while on our books.
Christian Ziege was first. The defender/midfielder stepped off the bench for Germany against Brazil in the 2002 World Cup Final in Yokohama, Japan.
"I didn't realise I was the first Spurs player to appear in a Final, that's a really big thing for me," he said at the time. "I'm very honoured to have achieved that for the club." Christian is now Head Coach at Spanish side CD Atletico Baleares.
