The Facebook player of the season is... Gareth Bale!
Gareth Bale has yet another award to add to his burgeoning collection.
The Welshman has been voted our Facebook Player of the Season by supporters with almost 10,000 votes being cast.
Over 84% of the vote went to the 23-year old, with Jan Vertonghen coming second with 10% and Hugo Lloris in third with 3%.
Bale became only the second player in history to win the PFA Players' Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards in addition to the FWA (Football Writer's Association) Player of the Year Award after Cristiano Ronaldo did the same in 2007.
Often playing behind a lone striker, Bale terrified defences and in doing so became our first player since Teddy Sheringham in the 1992/1993 to score over 20 goals in the league.
Spectacular goals against the likes of Manchester United, Norwich, West Ham and Sunderland saw Bale score nine goals from outside the box this season - more than any other player in the Premier League - and, crucially, they were often strikes that secured points.
There is not much that can be written here which has not already been said about Bale's performances this season. Needless to say, his 2012/2013 campaign will not be one forgotten by the Welshman, Spurs fans or defences across the country any time soon.
Congratulations to Gareth on winning the Facebook Player of the Season award!
