Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, our award-winning charitable body, is offering supporters a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to trek 46kms of the Great Wall of China for a fantastic cause.

Just a few more places are available for this unique experience, which takes place from 18-26 October, 2014, with monies raised going towards the Foundation’s groundbreaking projects that aim to create life changing opportunities for people in the Club’s local community.

Club Ambassador Ledley King is taking part and invites fans to join him on this memorable adventure, being jointly supported by our principle global partner, AIA, as part of a continued bid to promote health, wellbeing and increased participation in sport across the Asia-Pacific region.

Ledley said: “Tottenham Hotspur Foundation is a charity close to my heart, having supported its work for many years as a player and more recently in my role as Club Ambassador.

“I have seen first-hand how the lives of many local people have been changed by the fantastic projects, with education and employment the main focus.

“The Great Wall Trek will be a tough challenge, but I would encourage anybody to take this opportunity to experience a truly unique part of the world and raise money for a great cause at the same time.”

Over the past seven years, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has created over 2 million life-changing opportunities that have helped enhance the lives of people in its local community through football, education, employment, health and social inclusion programmes.

To help raise funds to support the amazing work of the Foundation, and specifically for programmes that will benefit young disabled people, Ledley will lead the group on a trek along one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

The Great Wall of China was constructed by human hands over 2,000 years ago. Physically demanding but hugely enjoyable, this challenge offers a fascinating insight into an ancient phenomenon, allowing you to explore a wonderful country and its unique history.

As you navigate your way along the Great Wall and witness first-hand the awe-inspiring mountain ranges and sample the unique culture of China, you will truly feel as though you have stepped back in time.

The cost for this once-in-a-lifetime experience will be £2,000, which includes all accommodation, transfers, meals, drinking water whilst trekking, national park fees, support team, back up facilities and provision of first aid supplies.

In addition to this, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation aims for each participant to raise a minimum of £1,000 in sponsorship, which will go towards supporting the Foundation’s incredible work with disabled people. Training and a good level of fitness is required to take on this challenge.
