"The best save I've ever seen"

Kieran Trippier had the best view in the BayArena of Hugo Lloris’ wonder save against Bayer Leverkusen – and has no doubts as to where it ranks.
“It’s one of the best saves I’ve ever witnessed,” said the full-back, who was only yards away when Hugo somehow stopped Javier Hernandez’s point-blank effort on the line. “In fact, it’s the best I’ve seen.”
The chance arose as Lars Bender got to our right byline and crossed low between Hugo, Eric Dier and Kieran, who did his best to slid in front of Hernandez. That slide was enough to distract the striker slightly, but he still connected just three yards from goal! In that time, Hugo sprinted across his and didn’t just save the initial effort, but as his momentum took him over, held onto the and prevented it crossing the line!
It was a crucial moment in earning what could be a crucial point in the Champions League as it ended 0-0 in Germany.
“Obviously, I thought it was a goal,” added ‘Trips’. “Eric went to try and close the cross down but he whipped the ball through the near post and I felt Hernandez behind me, so I tried to put him off as best as I could.
“I’ve seen a picture where Hugo is at his near post so somehow he’s leapt across his line to keep it out. It’s a match-saving save for us and he will continue to save us points as the season progresses.
“Hugo is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he’s like that in training as well, that’s what people don’t see!”
