Harry Kane was left to reflect on a perfect night after our 5-1 victory against Sunderland.
“It’s the best feeling in my career so far,” said the young striker. “I was buzzing to get my first start in the Premier League for Spurs and to then get my first Premier League goal at White Hart Lane in a 5-1 win made it a brilliant night.
“I’ve waited patiently and to get that goal is a very proud moment.”
It was Academy graduate Harry’s 14th appearance in all competitions this term, a third start and his third goal was a key moment against the Black Cats as he turned home Christian Eriksen’s cross for 2-1 just before the hour mark.
Christian fired home the third, Emmanuel Adebayor added his second from Harry’s assist and Gylfi Sigurdsson completed the scoring in added time.
“The goal put us 2-1 up and as soon as I scored it, the emotions just came out,” added the 20-year-old, who felt confident even after Sunderland took an early lead.
“I thought we played well before Sunderland’s goal but we settled down and knew if we played well we’d score goals, that’s how it turned out.
“Christian has a great delivery and whenever he gets on the ball, he’s looking to get it into the box. Fortunately I got in there and scored the goal. I’m delighted.”
