The Allens' HOF hat-trick

Paul Allen has spoken of his pride at completing an Allen family hat-trick in our Hall Of Fame.

Paul Allen has spoken of his pride at completing an Allen family hat-trick in our Hall Of Fame.

The midfielder will join his uncle Les and cousin Clive amongst the club's greats when he is inducted with winger and former team-mate Chris Waddle in another special night in the Club Marquee the Lane on February 12.

A member of both our 1987 and 1991 FA Cup Final teams, picking up a winner's medal at Wembley in 1991, Paul made 371 appearances in nine seasons at the club between 1985-1994.

"It's a nice little legacy!" beamed Paul, still a regular at the Lane. "When I first fell in love with football, the inspiration came from Clive's father Les when he was manager at QPR.

"I remember going to the games, seeing players afterwards, that was amazing. All I wanted to do was play football.

"I'm lucky I inherited that gene with Clive, Les and Martin and Bradley as well. We've been fortunate as a family in that respect.

"When you look at some of the illustrious names already inducted into the Hall Of Fame, going back to the great teams of the 1960s, it's a real honour to be part of that.

"I'm also very pleased to be inducted alongside Chris Waddle. I joined the club at the same time as Chris in 1985 and he was one of three players I played with who could do things on the pitch that other players couldn't - Chris, Glenn Hoddle and Paul Gascoigne.

"To think back then that I would eventually be inducted into the Hall Of Fame, it's fantastic."

This special event will be held in the Club Marquee, West Stand Forecourt, Bill Nicholson Way, High Road, Tottenham, N17 OAP
on Thursday, February 12.
