Rising tennis star and Spurs fan Nick Kyrgios popped in at the Training Centre this morning to watch training and get a special behind-the-scenes view at his favourite football club.
The 19-year-old from Australia shot to fame when he beat the likes of Richard Gasquet and world number one Rafael Nadal en route to the quarter-finals of Wimbledon earlier this year.
Back in the UK for a few days, the 6’4” youngster was delighted to visit Hotspur Way to witness the hard work of many of the players he often watches on television from Down Under when he’s not training himself or participating in tournaments.
“Whenever Spurs are playing I try to watch them, even with the time difference in Australia,” said the 2013 Australian Open Boys’ Singles champion, who was also presented with his own personalised Spurs shirt at the side of the training pitches.
“The last match I watched was against Newcastle and that was about 2am in the morning.
“I’ve been following Emmanuel Adebayor for quite a while and I’m starting to like a lot of the players here at the Club.
“It was awesome seeing the players and the training facility today – I’ve never seen anything like it before. This opportunity is one I’m going to remember.”
