TEEMU SUPPORTS CREATING CHANCES
Teemu Tainio attended a girls football coaching session at West Hatch School, Chigwell, on Thursday as part of the Club’s commitment to Premier League community initiative Creating Chances.
Teemu Tainio attended a girls football coaching session at West Hatch School, Chigwell, on Thursday as part of the Club’s commitment to Premier League community initiative Creating Chances.With the Women’s World Cup on-going in China, the school boast potential England stars of the future in their Under-14 and Under-16 teams, both District Champions.
And Finland international Teemu was certainly impressed with what he saw in this session, coached by the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.
The 27-year-old took part in a training drill aimed at enhancing ball skills, and also joined in with a shoot-out competition.
He said: “The standard of football at the session was very impressive and it is good to see the future of the women’s game is in safe hands.
“The coaching is also at a very high standard and it’s pleasing to know the Club are so heavily involved at all levels of the game.”
The session was coached by Karen Hills, who plays her football for Watford Ladies and is a former teammate of a number of the current England World Cup squad.
She is also Girls Development Officer at the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, which runs a number of football projects specifically designed to increase participation of girls of all abilities in playing football.
