Teddy Sheringham has stressed the importance of adapting quickly to the conditions England will face in their World Cup campaign.
Our captain fantastic is preparing with the rest of Sven Goran Eriksson's squad for England's first pre-tournament friendly in the Far East when they take on South Korea in Cheju tomorrow morning.
Teddy suggested the heat and humidity and slower, 'fluffy' pitches are the key elements to get used to.
"It's different and we've got to adapt very quickly," said Teddy. "We've got a couple of games over there and we'll adapt to the training facilities and the way the ball runs.
"There is no doubt that it is different but good players adapt and it's all about who adapts best."
How did Teddy expect the games to be? "There will be a lot of counter-attacking, cutting out balls and little sharp bursts, getting into the area very quickly from the half-way line when you think everything's slowing down," he said.
"Once everyone is behind the ball and playing in two banks of four, it will be very difficult to break teams down with the surface and the way the humidity is.
"I don't think there will be any shortage of short, sharp, pacy players showing their stuff as well.
"The heat and the way the pitches are, they are lot different, very fluffy and you have to play a different type of style there.
"You have to stay very composed, try and wait and take your chance when you get it."
