Teddy Sheringham's programme notes v Fulham

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

I've said in my columns over the last couple of weeks that we need to carry on producing the performances that we have done in our last four or five matches and that is still the case tonight.

This is another game which we are expected to win but as we all know football doesn't necessarily work like that. Fulham are a very composed team and they showed what they are capable of when they came back from 2-0 down to beat us 3-2 earlier in the season. That game turned around after about an hour and they did very well that night.

Tonight's match is another one that we need to win and if we can perform as well as we have been doing recently then hopefully we will come out as winners.

It's important that we keep going in the league, the other teams around us all seem to be winning as well at the moment, and everybody is continually encroaching on those European places. It is still very much in our minds that we will be one of the teams to secure one of those spots and that's what we are still striving for this season.

No doubt you are aware of a few injuries we've picked up recently, in particular up front with Robbie Keane and Steffen Iversen both sidelined at the moment, although hopefully not for long. But perhaps their absence could lead to a call up for youngsters like Lee Barnard and Jamie Slabber, who have both been scoring regularly for our youth teams and who look outstanding prospects. If they can keep banging in the goals for our Academy then who knows, maybe they will be knocking on the door of the first team.

Having said that I was delighted to see Gary Doherty score against Sunderland. All credit to Doc, he comes in one week and does a great job for us at centre half and then does well in the next game when he is brought on up front and I was very pleased to see him get on the scoresheet, he deserved it for his efforts.

Enjoy the game tonight.
