Teddy Sheringham's programme notes v Bolton

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Welcome back after a little break. I hope you all enjoyed our last game here against Cardiff in the Worthington Cup.

We knew it wasn't going to be easy. They are riding high in Division Two and it proved to be a good, entertaining game. Cardiff played some good football and gave us a couple of scares, but in the end it was nice to get through.

On the whole we dominated the game and played well, we had quite a few chances and maybe should have added to our one goal, but winning the match is all important in a knockout competition. Cardiff will do well this season, they were a credit to the Second Division.

After a couple of defeats in the league we wanted to bounce back against Blackburn Rovers and the win over Cardiff ensured we travelled to Ewood Park for our last game with a bit of confidence.

We played very well in the first half, we really dominated the game and went 1-0 ahead. Robbie opened the scoring with an excellent goal, one which shows why the club paid so much money for him. I don't think there is any other player in our squad who could have scored that type of goal, running at defenders and making things happen before finishing in such style.

Robbie deserved that goal, he's got into a lot of goalscoring positions without getting the breaks but now he's up and running. There should be plenty more to follow.

We had chances to go on and bury Blackburn after that but when they changed their formation in the second half, it took us five or 10 minutes to get to grips with it and that's when they got their equaliser.

But once we sorted things out, we dominated again and had two or three more chances to win the game. It took us to the last minute to get the winner and it was another well-worked goal even if the final touch was a bit flukey.

Jamie is one of the cleanest strikers of the ball in the league, but this one wasn't in that category! Even though, he still knew it was going to go in once he'd touched it and it left Brad Friedel bamboozled in goal. To be fair, it was only what we deserved.

That was our third winning goal in the dying seconds of matches this season, following on from the games against Southampton and West Ham, and it proves that we are determined to keep going until the final whistle every time.

If you can score late on, that's always great and it's something Manchester United have been doing for years. It's a sign of being able to grind down teams which is exactly what happened against Blackburn.

Naturally, we'll be looking for another three points this afternoon, so enjoy the game and get behind the team as you always do.
