Teddy: Fitness the key
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Teddy Sheringham believes England can prosper in the World Cup if all the key players stay fit.
Our captain fantastic did his chances of appearing in the opening game against Sweden on Sunday no harm after making an impact as substitute in England's final preparation friendly against Cameroon yesterday.
Teddy linked play superbly, glanced a header just wide and set up Robbie Fowler's late equaliser in the 2-2 draw.
Now all eyes are focused on the main event which kicks-off with holders France against Senegal on Friday.
So what were England's prospects? Speaking before travelling to the Far East, Teddy insisted: "If all the big players stay fit I think we've got a very good chance.
"We have a very good team and squad and if we get the rub of the green at the right times we might have half a chance of doing very well.
"I won't say we'll go and win it but we've got some very talented players and we could do very well.
"It's a tough group. But if you get through the group stages, who knows from there?"
Teddy added that, as well as fitness, the key to success was being clinical.
"You've got to take you chance when you get it, simple as that," he said. "There are always ifs, buts and if onlys but if you get a chance, you have to take it.
"That's what playing at the top of the tree is all about. You have to make an impact at the right times."
