Branko Strupar believes he is two matches away from full fitness as Derby edge towards safety after helping the Rams to victory against Aston Villa last weekend.
The 31-year-old Belgium striker is on the mend after two hernia operations that curtailed his progress. Now manager Jim Smith has Strupar, Malcolm Christie and Deon Burton all pushing for a place up front in the side on Saturday.
Strupar said: "It is the first time I have had an injury as serious as this. It has almost driven me crazy at times. Now I am just glad to be playing again but I still need two more games before I am back to full fitness."
