Mauricio Pochettino reports that Erik Lamela is ‘doing well’ in Rome and expects him to remain in Italy for another week to complete his recovery from a hip injury.

The attacking midfielder travelled out to Italy last week with our medical staff and is using Roma’s facilities.

Erik has been laid low with the injury since the end of October.

Mauricio reported: “Erik is doing well but he’s still away.

“We expect he’ll be there one week more to finish his recovery and then we’ll see what level he’s at when he’s here.

“It’s not important to say ‘one week, two weeks, three weeks’, it’s important he feels well and is recovering well after his injury.

“Our expectation is that when he arrives back we’ll test him and see what level he’s at, build his fitness and then see when he’ll be available to be involved again.”
