Team news: Eight out

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

We will have eight players missing through injury for Saturday's much-anticipated Premiership clash against Leeds United at the Lane.

Stephen Carr, Ben Thatcher, Chris Armstrong, Mauricio Taricco, Darren Anderton, Oyvind Leonhardsen, Steffen Iversen and Dave McEwen are all out.

Carr, who also misses out on Ireland's friendly against Denmark last week, said his groin/abdomen problem was improving slowly but surely.

Taricco is expected to be out for the rest of the season with a similar injury while there was still no clue to when Thatcher and Armstrong, also suffering from groin trouble, would return.

Boss George Graham revealed on Thursday that Anderton's Achilles injury would keep him out for another 'two to three weeks' while weekend scans revealed Leonhardsen had cracked a bone in his ankle. He will be in plaster for another two weeks and out for at least six weeks.

Iversen will be on antibiotics for a throat infection until early next week while McEwen is approaching fitness again after an ankle knock.

George said: "Injury wise there is virtually no change. We have eight first team boys injured in Carr, Thatcher, Taricco, Anderton, Leonhardsen, Armstrong, Iversen and McEwen.

"It's no different from last week. The squad will be more or less the same and we are looking forward to the game."

Loanee striker Andy Booth is available again after being cup-tied for last week's win against Stockport County.
