Younes Kaboul is back in the frame for Wednesday night's Carling Cup third round tie against Middlesbrough at the Lane. The French Under-21 skipper missed Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Bolton with a slight knee injury but comes back into the reckoning after training this week.

Paul Stalteri is also fit after a heel problem sustained in international duty but Anthony Gardner (ankle) and Ledley King (knee) remain out.

Martin Jol reported this afternoon: “Younes Kaboul is back in the squad. We had to pull him out just before the Bolton game but we feel he’s 100 per cent fit again now.

“Anthony Gardner is still out but he’s doing well and hopefully he’ll come back next week. Paul Stalteri is back and I’ll rest Benoit Assou-Ekotto, he well well to play two games in three days after his injury and this gives an opportunity to other players.”
