William Gallas is back in contention to face Fulham at the Lane on New Year's Day.

William Gallas is back in contention to face Fulham at the Lane on New Year's Day.

The defender has been out since picking up a hamstring in training just before we faced Chelsea on December 12.

"William is back training and he looks good," reported boss Harry Redknapp on Friday morning.

His return is timed perfectly with Younes Kaboul set to sit out the first of three matches suspended following his sending off against Newcastle United on Tuesday.

Jermain Defoe also remains suspended after his red card at Villa on Boxing Day.

Harry added that Robbie Keane was a doubt with a tight hamstring and that Carlo Cudicini misses out with a shoulder problem. He joins longer-term absentees Ledley King, Jamie O'Hara and Jonathan Woodgate on the sidelines.
