Tano's about turn
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Around this time last season Mauricio Taricco was still sidelined and his former club Ipswich were making a Champions League charge - how times change...
At the time, Tano tipped Ipswich to hold off the challenge of Liverpool and secure the third place that would have meant elite league combat. As it went, Liverpool snatched third and Ipswich entered the UEFA Cup.
While Town have endured a traumatic season this time around, Tano has enjoyed probably his most productive in a Spurs shirt but, as usual, refuses to comment on his own form.
"I don't know about fantastic season, I just played a lot of games and I'm happy about that.
"I always say that I let people judge my performances as they like. If I'm picked I do the best I can and that's how I see football really."
Tano has enjoyed his season and puts it down to remaining injury free. Credit for that he passes to his Italian doctor, who has also treated Stephen Clemence this season.
"Obviously because I'm fit," he says of his enjoyment this season. "I enjoy coming here every day and training and playing five-a-sides, being a footballer.
"Last year I was disappointed, very disappointed because again, I always say the same thing, when we found my doctor it took only a couple of weeks for me to get back.
"Thankfully he is there, I know where he is and I keep in touch with him just in case anything happens - in football you never know. I feel secure and safe that he is there and I appreciate him very much.
"For me he is excellent, a top man who has been into football for 50 years and he knows what he's doing."
While Tano has enjoyed an upturn in fortunes, Ipswich, despite a single goal victory over Middlesbrough, are teetering on the brink of relegation.
"It's a shame, it's a shame because they try to play," pondered Tano. "It is a shame if a team that tries to play goes down and sometimes a team that does not try to play as nice stays in the division.
"That's the way it is.
"Last year they played fantastic and got to a position that nobody could have guessed they would have done.
"This year has been a disappointment. Maybe playing in Europe was too soon for them, playing in the cups and Europe made them maybe not do so well in the Premiership."
