Our director of football David Pleat gives us his exclusive preview to Sunday's Premiership clash at Ewood Park.
BLACKBURN ROVERS on Sunday will certainly be a tough game.
Some supporters might think because they've played a game last Sunday and in midweek and had travelling that it might take an effect but I believe playing on Sunday at three o'clock they have time to recover.
They have ability in midfield, skillful passers in David Dunn, Tugay, Flitcroft is a good captain and encourager of players, an all-action player who sets the tone for the pace of their game.
Keith Gillespie has done well from a wide position. A lot of people thought he might have been on the way down but he's picked up and is very progressive.
Of course we all know about Damian Duff. The argument is whether he's better up front or wide. He certainly can beat people, has a lovely left foot and he can manouevre the ball. Obviously he'll be a threat.
Whether Cole plays, whether Yorke plays, debatable, Ostenstad has had a revival of late, playing in the team and of course Jansen still isn't ready to be considered.
I expect it to be a very close game, hopefully we can get something from the game and then, in the next 10 days or so, people like Steffen Freund, Gus Poyet, Mauricio Taricco, Steve Carr may all start to return more permanently and then we'll have some genuine depth in the group. If those players can pick it up and do well it will show those who have taken their places in the first weeks what a good job they've done.
I don't think the players will look for 'revenge'. It sounds just as stupid to say that when 'the ball rolls, it's a different game', but it is really. Perhaps the crowd reaction might be different because the home team got our scalp in a cup final but if players are mature there isn't a problem at all.
