Sydney FC 0-1 Spurs - Mauricio's verdict
30 May 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Mauricio Pochettino spoke about ‘many positives’ after our 1-0 win against Sydney FC - but his first word went to the fans.
Over 70,000 supporters packed into the ANZ Stadium to watch Harry Kane fire home the only goal against the A-League runners-up to land the AIA Cup.
It capped a successful post-season Tour both on and off the pitch after we beat a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
“First of all, I’m very happy to be here with our supporters in Australia, they are just incredible, it was an unbelievable atmosphere,” he said.
“It was a tough game because Sydney FC are a very good team and after a tough season our players are a little tired, but we tried to show our skills to our fans here.
“It’s just fantastic that our players are so close to our people.
“The game ticked the boxes. It was an opportunity to play the younger players and I’m happy with them, they’ve improved a lot and this is a great experience for them.
“This post-season tour has been all positive.”
