Sweet for under-17s

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Jimmy Neighbour's under-17 side swept to a second win of the season in some style against Fulham on Saturday - running out 4-0 winners at Motspur Park.

After three 2-2 draws, a single goal success and a 2-0 defeat, Jimmy's boys added a convincing win to the collection after a game full of sweet passing football and no shortage of invention.

The opening goal arrived in the first minute, a well worked set piece corner converted by Danny Foster, who did well to get across his marker and score with a bullet header.

In the last few minutes of the half, Spurs put the game beyond their hosts, with Mark Yeates scoring the second. Marcel McKie's cross from the left cleared the Fulham defence and Yeates popped up at the far post to hit home.

Just before the break, Mario Noto picked up possession on the right and picked out the overlapping Daniel Perry who found Jamie Slabber with a fine cross that the striker buried with a fine header.

Yeates doubled his tally for the season 25 minutes into the second period. From a breakaway, substitute Michael Malcolm received the ball on the edge of the area and held on waiting for suppport. He squared the ball to Yeates to slide home a fourth.

Being three goals to the good at the break allowed Jimmy to give a run to three under-16 players. Goalkeeper Nicky Eyre prepared for England duty with a 20 minute spell between the sticks, while Michael Malcolm and David Hicks came on after 65 minutes.

Team: Paul Rutherford (Nicky Eyre 70), Daniel Perry, Marcel McKie, Lee Barnett, Danny Foster, David Tyrie, Mario Noto, Nicky Wettner (David Hicks 65), Jamie Slabber (Michael Malcolm 65), Mark Yeates, Tim Ford. Subs: Jonathan Black, Ricki Dobson, Gareth Jenkins.
