Swede success for Santini
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Jacques Santini hailed our Swedish training a success after returning to Spurs Lodge on Monday.
The squad flew back into Heathrow last night after a week's tough training and three pre-season friendlies.
We drew two and lost one of those friendlies but our new Head Coach insisted all along that he was not too concerned about the results.
He was also keen not to pick up injuries - so Lee Barnard's broken collar bone in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Trollhattan was a real blow, not least for the young striker.
Indeed, the week in Kungsbacka, just outside Gothenburg, was more of a 'getting to know you' process for both the squad and management.
"It has been a good week," he reflected. "I have much information about the team and I have to thank the organisation and the hotel with it's many, many facilities.
"It has been a good week for myself, Frank Arnesen and my assistant coaches.
"I'm a lot better with the names, the surnames and the faces. We've been together 10 days and now we will analyse the information for next week because we have two matches next weekend against Hull and Sheffield United and first Stevenage on Tuesday.
"Our international players have returned and I hope Anthony Gardner and Jamie Redknapp will be able to train fully this week."
