Swede set for Ted test

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Sunderland defender Joachim Bjorklund is hoping to produce a carbon copy of his derby display at the Lane.

The Swedish star put in a stylish performance to subdue Alan Shearer as the Black Cats lost out by a single goal against Newcastle at the Stadium of Light.

And the former Rangers man, sporting a cut eye from Sunday's battle with Shearer, is hoping for more of the same against Teddy Sheringham.

Bjorklund said: "I was fairly pleased with the way I played against Alan Shearer although the result was a huge disappointment.

"The manager gave me the job of marking Alan and I thought it went okay. Now I must do it against Spurs.

"They have some good strikers in Les Ferdinand and Teddy Sheringham. Sheringham poses the same sort of threat as Shearer."

Bjorklund has struck up a good central defensive partnership with Jody Craddock since the stopper's arrival from Italian club Venezia.

And the pair will look for a second successive clean sheet away from home when the Black Cats go to White Hart Lane.

"When I came to Sunderland it was my aim to quickly settle in," said the 31-year-old.

"I'm quite pleased with the way it has gone although it is always disappointing when you lose a derby match.

"We have looked fairly solid at the back in recent weeks and it would be a massive boost if we could pick up a clean sheet and a win at Tottenham.

"The atmosphere the fans created against Newcastle was amazing and it would be good to repay them by beating Spurs."

Sunderland will again be without midfielder Gavin McCann with a knee injury.

"I've had plenty of knee ligament strains and you think you are near then you get a set-back. There's nothing sinister in Gav's injury, it's just taken longer than we expected," said Reid.

He is also without Emerson Thome, Julio Arca and Paul Thirlwell.
