Tim Sherwood is keen to ensure we flex our muscles at Swansea City on Sunday as we look to continue our fine away form in the Premier League.
Our opponents this weekend have endured a difficult time on home soil, while our own recent domestic exploits on the road have been as good as they have been in recent memory.
We’ve won four away league games in a row for the first time since the Premier League’s inception – and Head Coach Tim wants to make that five come Sunday.
“I think that we’ve just got to take every game as it comes,” Tim said. “We know that they have got threats and we know if we play well we should go there and win the game. We have to obviously be professional enough to go and do it.
“They’ve got great strength in depth there but they’ve certainly got players who we know on Sunday will be ones to watch out for.
“We have to make sure that we impose ourselves on them.
“Records are there for one reason – to be broken – and we hope that doesn’t get messed up on Sunday afternoon.”
Tim is thankful for the extra time he’s been able to spend with the lads on the training pitches this week, as we move away from the hectic fixture spell over the last month-and-a-half.
It’s been a week since our last outing – a 2-0 home win against Crystal Palace – and Tim insists we’ve made the best use of the intervening days as we prepare for Sunday’s test in Wales.
“We’ve spiked the training up to a level and then we’re tapering it off now looking forward to the Swansea game, so it’s been a good week,” Tim said.
“We’re pleased obviously with the result from last Saturday and we’re hoping we can get a positive one on Sunday.
“The games came thick and fast over that Christmas period and there wasn’t much time to breathe but (this week) there has been more time to reflect and hopefully, even though the games are spread out now, we can get the same sort of results in the league.
“We just need to concentrate on this game and get maximum points out of it.”
