Sunderland v Spurs - team news

11 September 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Heung-Min Son is set to join the squad for the first time as we travel to Sunderland in the Premier League on Sunday.

The South Korea international was granted a work permit and received international clearance this week to complete his transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.

‘Sonny’ scored a hat-trick for South Korea against Laos in World Cup qualifying last week and has trained with the squad back at Hotspur Way this week.

Mauricio Pochettino reported that Clinton Njie is closing in on full fitness following his switch from Lyon but Christian Eriksen (knee) remains sidelined and Mousa Dembele is doubtful after picking up an injury last time out against Everton that ruled him out of international duty for Belgium.

Mauricio said: “Christian is close but not yet fit. Mousa is doubtful. Clinton is also close and Sonny is in better condition because he has played, scored three goals for South Korea and he has trained well this week.”
