Sunderland v Spurs - magic moment - Iversen's hat-trick
11 September 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Steffen Iversen certainly left his mark on Roker Park.
Sunderland's orginal home for over 100 years hosted our first match in the old First Division all the way back in 1909.
Fully 98 years later, Steffen made sure our final match at Roker Park was a memorable one with a hat-trick in our 4-0 win in the Premier League in March, 1997. His hat-trick goal was one to remember as well, a 30-yard volley that scorched past Lionel Perez.
Months later, Sunderland began life at the Stadium of Light.
Steffen, meanwhile, played for us for seven seasons, scoring 47 goals in 176 matches in all competitions before moving to Wolves in 2004.
Retiring in 2012, Steffen scored one of the most famous goals in Norway's history, his winner against Spain in the Euro 2000 finals.
