Sully's massive month
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Few footballers would swap Neil Sullivan’s diary over the next couple of weeks.
Our in-form number one is with the Scotland squad preparing for two home World Cup qualifying matches against Belgium and San Marino.
The key qualifiers come off the back of the win at West Ham, George Graham’s departure, the win against Coventry City and when he returns, Neil faces Arsenal twice in eight days — including the FA Cup semi-final.
“The games keep coming thick and fast and we’ve two very big qualifying games next week,” said Neil before travelling north of the border last weekend. “The first one against Belgium is a massive game for us at home. San Marino is just a big for us as well because we have to win that one.
“We’ve had the West Ham game followed by Coventry, where it was very important for us to get back after the West Ham game and get a victory, I now go on to two big internationals and then one big league game and FA Cup semi-final.
“They come thick and fast but you’d rather be involved than not.”
Craig Brown’s men have started well in Group Six — ‘Sully’ has conceded just one goal in four matches so far — and success in this week’s Hampden Park double-header will leave them in the driving seat for the finals.
Neil added: “We’ve had four away games, we’ve only Belgium to go to and we’ve done very well so far on our travels so when we get back to Hampden we’ve got to show the home fans that we can take it on a progress from the group.”
