Sully's got the knowledge
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Neil Sullivan says the boys are not stepping into the unknown at Tranmere tonight, our Worthington Cup opponents have been studied and the team are fully prepared.
Often, playing against lower league team away in the cup can represent something of a culture shock to Premiership teams but, such have been the Birkenhead side's exploits in recent seasons, it is hard not to be aware of the Tranmere-effect.
"They had a good cup run in both competitions last year," recalled Sully, who prefers to dwell on our own capabilities. "They are a good side, we've watched a video of them and seen what they're about.
"We know it's not going to be easy to play against them but, I think things are looking well for us.
"We're playing well, passing the ball well and, on the whole, we should have won more games than we have.
"I think there is no need for us not to be confident of getting a good win. We'll treat it how it is as a good cup tie against a lower league side. There are always one or two surprises in the cup and we've just got to make sure that this is not one of them."
And should master thrower Dave Challiner start or come off the bench, is Sully ready for a few to be launched in his direction?
"It's another problem. There's many problems you've got to overcome in football and his throws are another of them. We know what to expect and are going to have to deal with it."
