Sully gives Dave the boot

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

When Dave Beasant arrived at Spurs Lodge the first person he bumped into was Neil Sullivan and immediately asked him to clean his boots!

Sully naturally declined the request, but that's the way it was once upon a time when Big Dave was patrolling the goal line at Plough Lane and Sully was a young hopeful at Wimbledon.

"Sully was actually my apprentice at Wimbledon," confirmed Dave. "In fact, the first two people I saw were Neil Sullivan and Chris Perry - Hans Segers as well. I said to Sully 'will you clean my boots?', but there have been a few decades gone past since that last occured!"

Dave is already hoping that his stay at the club lasts longer than the two-month deal he has signed - and the man formerly known as Lurch certainly showed that his shot-stopping abilities are still intact when he played his first reserve game for the club against Fulham on Monday.

"It would be nice to play. I wouldn't wish injury to Sully but if anything did occur and he was, for one reason or another, unable to play I wouldn't worry and hopefully Glenn wouldn't worry about sticking me in there."

"It would be nice to extend the deal beyond two months. From my situation I would love to give Glenn that dilemma when the end of my contract comes about. If it takes Kasey longer to recover that maybe we'll extend it.

Hopefully Glenn will see what I can do and maybe think twice about ending the contract. The ball is in my court. I've just got to show what I can do and hopefully stay here because it's massive club and going in the right direction. This club is looking good."
