Striker delight for Pleat
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
David Pleat was delighted by the contribution of the strikeforce employed against Coventry City on Wednesday.
It was Robbie Keane and Fredi Kanoute on Carling Cup duty at Highfield Road and both found the net - Robbie for the first time this season, while Fredi scored his fifth goal in six games with his opener.
Both finishes were right out of the top drawer, a fact that David was happy to acknowledge.
"Yes, Robbie is very clever, Kanoute's worked very hard and had a very good all round game I thought," he responded, before heaping praise on goalscoring substitute Rohan Ricketts.
"Rohan did splendidly well when he came on, which is a credit to the coaching staff and Glenn had a lot of faith in him recently.
"All the boys worked very hard for each other, which is important. I could go through it - they all did their jobs well, kept their shape well.
"Coventry had some possession, which we expected because of the way we played, but there wasn't gaps appearing for them to play through us in the first half - which was the important half. In was in that half, of course, that we scored the two goals to give us a cushion.
"In the second half you would expect a Premiership team to play with a bit of composure and we did to a certain extent. In the first 25 minutes of the second half they were really throwing players at us and we dealt with the pressure. I thought the back four held their shape well and defended soundly."
