Strength from adversity
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Glenn Hoddle is hoping to take strength out of adversity after Saturday's defeat at Charlton Athletic.
A disappointing start and two early goals laid the foundations for a 3-1 reverse at the Valley and ended the chance of us going up into second place in the Premiership.
We immediately turn our attentions to Tuesday night and the Worthington Cup quarter-final against Bolton at the Lane.
Glenn is pleased to be playing again so quickly and pointed to the positive reaction after the last time we conceded three goals - the 5-3 defeat against Manchester United in September.
That loss was followed by a run of one defeat in nine before Charlton and Glenn explained: "The last time we conceded three or more goals against United we responded well and we have to make sure we do the same again.
"Tuesday will be a hard game for us but in a way it is good that we're playing so quickly after losing.
"If we win we have another two homes games after that in the league so we've got a chance to respond."
Glenn insisted that the players were not distracted by the chance to go into second place on Saturday.
"We didn't speak about going up to second," he said. "Wherever anyone is at the moment doesn't mean too much.
"We're all jostling for places and it's where we are come April, May.
"There is a lot of hard work ahead and Saturday's result proves that to us.
"We've been pretty consistent since United and we have to make sure we go out and perform well again.
"We've lost games this season when I've spoken about how well we've played but this time over 90 minutes we didn't play as well as we did in those games. That's a concern. But it happens in football and how you respond is the important thing."
