Strange for Les
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Les Ferdinand admits it will be strange lining up at Loftus Road and not not seeing the familiar hoops of Queens Park Rangers in front of him.
The Acton-born striker was eight years a Ranger, apart from a few loan spells, before heading off to Newcastle in 1995. For Les, more than most, facing Fulham on his old stomping ground is an unusual prospect.
"It will be a bit different," he smiled. "I've been back to Loftus Road a couple of times now, but it's always been to play QPR. It will be strange to go there and play Fulham."
His personal start to the season is something of a tale of the unexpected for Les, whose preparations for the campaign were hampered by the wrist injury sustained towards the end of last term.
"Like I said right at the start of the season, I didn't expect to be involved with the first team straight away due to the fact that I missed out on games.
"I'm obviously very pleased that I have been involved and managed to nick a couple of goals."
Les admits that the goals are a significant boost to his confidence.
"Without a shadow of a doubt. I played the other week against Southampton and managed to notch a goal there, then I had a run-out for the reserves on Tuesday and managed to nick a goal there as well.
"That all helps for confidence and, as well as that, I'm starting to get my match sharpness now.
"It was always going to take five or six games before I got that match sharpness. I'm trying now to get as many games in as possible without being silly to get that sharpness and get where I need to be."
