Stewarding award

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

The Club was presented with its football Stewarding Qualification at Wednesday's match against Celtic.

FA Premier League Chairman Dave Richards presented the Award to the Lane's Safety Officer, Sue Tilling and Director of Football, David Pleat.

The award is a joint initiative between the FA, the Football League and the FA Premier League to establish a national standard in the training of Stewards at football clubs.

We had to meet the strict guidelines laid down by the football authorities in order to achieve the accolade.

Sue commented: "This is a great achievement for the Club, and is a mark of our commitment to fan safety. The standard demands high levels of achievement, and it reassures our fans that Stewards are fully trained and qualified for the job."

The Football Stewarding Qualification Scheme was launched in September 1999 and developed with the help of the Football Licensing Authority and Football Safety Officers Association.

Clubs are verified by an independent party appointed by the authorities to ensure the standards are being met.
