Stevenage in FA Cup

We have been drawn away to Stevenage in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

A date has yet to be arranged for the tie, although fifth round matches will be played over the weekend of February 18/19.

As soon the date is confirmed we will let fans know on this website and through our usual communication channels.

This will be our first competitive fixture against Stevenage - our former reserve team 'home'.

Currently sixth in League One, Stevenage have won back-to-back promotions in the last two seasons, from the Conference to League Two in 2009-10 and then a play-off final win against Torquay at Old Trafford last May earned a place in League One for 2011-12.

Stevenage have yet to concede a goal in the FA Cup this term.

They beat Hartlepool away 1-0 in round one, Stourbridge away 3-0 in round two, produced a fine 1-0 win at Championship side Reading in the third round and then enjoyed a 1-0 success against Notts County at the Lamex Stadium in the fourth round on Saturday.

That was new boss Gary Smith's first game in charge. Formerly with Colorado Rapids in the MLS, Smith has taken over from Graham Westley, who recently moved to Preston.

Stevenage include ex-Spurs players Ronnie Henry and Chris Day in their squad.

Both came through our youth ranks. Goalkeeper Day, now 36, was at the club from 1992-96 and was an unused substitute a club record 62 times in league and cup matches.

Henry, 28, grandson of double-winning great Ron Henry, joined our Academy in July, 2000 and was released in November, 2003. He joined Stevenage in January, 2005 and has since made over 250 appearances in all competitions.
