Steve Archibald

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glasgow-born Steve Archibald formed a lethal partnership with Garth Crooks in the early 1980s, playing in six finals in that golden period.

Archibald joined Spurs from Aberdeen in May 1980 having just helped the Dons to title success in his time at Pittodrie. He was quick off the block after arriving in London and collected an FA Cup winners' medal in his first season.

Another one followed in 1982 and his goal looked set to win the League Cup against Liverpool until the Reds late comeback and eventual extra time win. He soon made up for that though with a UEFA Cup win in 1984.

Archibald eventually scored 77 goals in 189 first-team appearances before leaving for Barcelona in the summer of 1984.

He left the Spanish giants after the arrival of Gary Lineker and Mark Hughes, moving to Hibernian in 1988 and went on to play for Espanyol, St Mirren, Reading, Ayr United and Fulham before being appointed manager of East Fife.

Appearances/goals: 128(3)/58 (Lg), 17(1)/5 (FAC), 18/7 (LC), 22/7 (Eur).
