Steo's Flood warning
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Stephen Kelly has issued a Flood warning! The Republic of Ireland under-21 skipper knows all about the threat posed by his international teammate and Manchester City midfielder Willo Flood.
The City wideboy has made nine first team appearances so far this season as he sets about trying to establish a regular place in Kevin Keegan's plans. While the name Willo Flood may be a new one on many of us, Stephen has witnessed his development first hand and hopes both of them play some part at the City of Manchester Stadium on Saturday.
"Willo plays on the wing and is a really tricky player," explained Steo. "If he is playing then he is one to look out for. He is an eye-catching player and, what with Wright-Phillips on the other flank, they have got a real threat from the flanks.
"He is a bit younger than me and has been pushed up to the under-21s. I've been playing right back and he's been playing in front of me - we played together in the under-20 world championship and he did well in that too.
"He is a fantastic little player and very aggressive. To look at him you wouldn't think it, but he is so tenacious. He is also very direct, just wants to take players on and get crosses in.
"He is one for the future, definitely, as he has proved by scoring a couple of goals since he has started playing. There are a few of us coming through now and hopefully we will soon be pushing for the Ireland senior team."
Although not first hand, Robbie Keane has also been keeping tabs on the progress of Flood and feels the ranks of the Ireland senior side will soon be bolstered.
"I have seen in a couple of games on telly and, from what I have seen of him, he's done ever so well," chipped in Robbie. "He looks sharp, lively and is definitely one for the future. Him coming through will be good for Irish football."
