Steo on Peace Cup tonic
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Stephen Kelly believes the team's Peace Cup success provides a timely boost ahead of the new season.
'Steo', who put in the cross which led to our opening goal off the head of Lyon full-back Jeremy Berthod in Sunday's final, feels the confidence of the squad will be boosted with the 3-1 victory over the French champions.
"It is fantastic way to prepare for the season," beamed the Republic of Ireland under-21 international, who insists he will claim the goal. "There were good teams in this tournament and now we have come away as champions. It is a great boost for the camp - now roll on the season!
"I'm going to claim it - it would be wrong of me not to! I just got forward, put a cross in and it came off his head and went it. It happens and fortunately it gave us a good start to the game.
"Lyon are a big side who did well in the Champions League. We were confident though and we know what we are capable of doing. It was a really good result for us."
Steo added that fitness, as well as confidence, has greatly improved during our participation in Peace Cup 2005 in South Korea.
"We will take a lot out of it, it has been four good games for us and people are feeling fit. It is not too long until the start of the season and, with this win under our belts, everyone has got to be feeling confident.
"Hopefully we will be all guns blazing when we start in a few weeks."
