Steffen feeling the strain

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn has revealed that Steffen Iversen is suffering from a slight abductor strain that has forced him out of recent contention.

Having made his comeback from long-term ankle ligament damage, Steffen has been laid low, but Glenn says it is just a minor setback although he doesn't expect him to be ready for this weekend's FA Cup clash against Coventry.

"Steffen's got a slight abductor strain which has kept him out of training," said Glenn. "So he is not fit at this moment in time. We're not sure for the weekend, odds against probably."

Meanwhile, in his post-match briefing with the press following the win over Blackburn, Glenn was asked, once again, to comment on persistent reports that Sergei Rebrov could be heading out of the Lane.

Not for the first time, Glenn said there is no truth in the speculation and said such stories were a cross modern bosses have to bear - one that he didn't think Bill Nicholson would have tolerated.

"He's never said anything to me and until we have that conversation I've got no comment on that," said Glenn of the Sergei talk.

"I don't need to comment on things like that at the moment, because at the end of the day it's not an issue. If it becomes an issue then I can talk about it.

"He hasn't knocked on my door and said 'I want to leave' and I haven't said 'I want you to leave'. There is no club involved anyway so it's business as usual.

"I think as managers in the modern game we have to put up with it. I don't think Bill Nicholson would have stood for it, but you have to change with the times and it's always a difficult thing nowadays for every manager, not just for myself.

"It's just the way of the world at the moment."

Glenn added that he expected Teddy's appeal to have his sending-off against Ipswich rescinded should be resolved some time this week.
