Stats spotlight - Kyle Walker at Villa
15 March 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
The latest in a new feature where we take a closer look at the performances of the players using the wealth of new statistics now available on the Match Centre. Next up - Kyle Walker's display against Villa.
Kyle's raids down the right flank were a real standout, especially as we pushed on for the opening goal in the first half.
In one of those raids, he squared for Erik Lamela to strike the post and in another, he rifled a low shot taken well by Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan. Kyle tested Guzan again in the second half and his season's stats now show nine efforts at goal with seven on target, including his goal against West Ham at the Lane in November.
Those stats also show 56 crosses from open play in the 25 of our 30 matches he's started.
Kyle said: "This season I’ve been concentrating on my positioning defensively but I like to get forward and in games like Villa on a big pitch and nice surface it was a great opportunity to do that."
