*Theo on award

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Theo Foley's achievements and long service to football has been recognised by an award from Irish World newspaper.

Our reserve team coach, capped 12 times by the Republic of Ireland, picked up the honour at an awards' night earlier this week.

Theo left Ireland at 16 to join Burnley. He went on to captain Northampton Town's rise from the Fourth to the First Division before taking managerial or coaching capacities at Charlton, Millwall, QPR, Arsenal, Northampton, Fulham and Southend before joining us in 1998.

Theo explained: "Yes, I won an award from Irish World for achievements and longevity, I suppose, in football.

"I'm really proud of that. I would have been pleased if my mum and dad were around to see me get it, especially my mum, but's it's a lovely gesture and I'm delighted about it.

"I love coming in here, love the atmposhere - it's a terrific atmosphere and it's a great place to work.

"Obviously the Fulham result has left everyone a little down but a good result against West Ham will pick everyone up again."
