*Simon hopes he Az the last laugh
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Simon Davies admits the prospect of Azerbaijan being thrown out of Euro 2004 is a blow having already secured maximum points against them but still takes heart from Wales' position in Group Nine.
Football's world governing body suspended the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan following alleged repeated violations of the FIFA code of conduct, throwing the national team's Euro 2004 qualifying campaign into doubt.
Wales are waiting to see if Azerbaijan are allowed back into Euro 2004 or if the ban eventually leads to them being thrown out and the results against that country being expunged from the competition.
"It's obviously disappointing but you would have probably expected Italy to beat Azerbaijan at home anyway," reasoned Simon at Spurs Lodge.
"It's still a blow because we've got the points in the bag and you never know in international football.
"We've won the two games and I think Serbia still had to go out there and that's never an easy trip.
"When we went out there we got a convincing win and it was nice feeling that we'd put the other teams under pressure to do the same.
"If they get kicked out then I think we'll still have two points over Italy.
"Bascially, we've still got to win our home games and see what happens."
