*National Inclusion Week
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Tottenham Hotspur FITC and Barclaycard Free Kicks are kicking off their second year in partnership with a Football Fun Day - a revolutionary initiative (as part of National Inclusion Week) to enable disabled pupils to participate in the life and work of mainstream institutions.
Disabled students face different barriers when participating in football and, for the last year, the FITC coaches have been working regularly and persistently with teachers at Vale School to adapt the rules to suit their students with physical disabilities. On November 14th, the personalised rules will be put into practice with coaching and competitions in which disabled and non-disabled children will play football together.
Tottenham Hotspur and Barclaycard Free Kicks recognise that inclusion in football is one aspect of inclusion in society and hope that the Football Fun day can contribute to a greater equality of opportunities for all members of society.
Nic Gault from Barclaycard Free Kicks said: "Although we sponsor the Barclaycard Premiership, much of our focus is on grassroots football. It is essential we support football at this level, and we are really pleased to be able to support Tottenham’s Football in the Community scheme."
