Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Christian Ziege described captaining Germany for the first time as 'great stuff' and then admitted that he has never skippered a team before.
Christian led his national team out against the USA last week and revealed that Rudi Voller's decision to hand him the armband was on the basis of him having collected the most caps.
"Oliver Kahn was not there and he is obviously the captain," said Christian, back at Spurs Lodge after suffering a small groin injury in the game. "The manager said to me 'you are the player with the most caps so you are the captain'.
"It is the first time I have been captain of any team, I've never been captain before. To be captain of the national side for the first time was great stuff for me."
Not the most demonstrative of players on the pitch and pretty quiet off it, Christian suggests that he belongs to the David Beckham school of captaincy.
"I think, for me, if something is not going well the captain should try and change something. I'm not always talking to the others and shouting things, but David Beckham is the same.
"He is not a player who is talking a lot, but I think Sven Goran Eriksson did a good thing in making him captain. He is always the man going out in front, it worked for England in qualification - maybe it will work for me as well..."
Christian put added shine on his big night by hitting a screamer of a free-kick past Kasey Keller, who was having a superb game in the USA goal. He said he warned Kasey beforehand that it could be two, but was happy to settle for one and a good result in World Cup preparation.
"I said to him before that he would be taking two out his net! I just managed one, but it was enough to get the team playing in the right way.
"We won 4-2, but they showed they are not a bad team, especially up front they have good strikers. They made it difficult for Italy in the game before so I think it was a good win for us."
The wing-back admits that he was not initially due to take the free-kicks on the night, but the training session misses of Liverpool's Didi Hamman saw him take over the duty.
"It's difficult. In the morning during training I had a few and Didi hit every one wide of the post so it was a lucky day for me."
