Star Man - Stig Bjornebye
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Oyvind Leonhardsen will see a few familiar faces in the tunnel area of the Lane on New Year's Day when Blackburn head south for the day.
Our Norwegian midfielder might just bump into a few of his international team mates and, in the case of Stig Bjornebye a former club mate.
Leo and Stig were together at both Rosenborg and Liverpool and Leo, more than most, is aware of his particular strengths.
Blackburn employ a trio of Norwegians, Henning Berg and Egil Ostenstad being the other two. The former made a rare appearance against Derby at the weekend, but it tipped to make way for new signing Andy Cole.
"At the moment it is just Bjornebye and Henning Berg that is playing most," said Leo. "But Ostenstad featured on Saturday.
"Stig is a good left-back and a fine defender. He likes to come forward and put in a lot of crosses."
Leo has spent most of his international career playing alongside Bjornebye and the pair have enjoyed some considerable highs in Norway colours.
"He retired from the international team about two years ago, but he won 75 caps and has a lot of experience. He always gives 100 per cent," reflected Leo, who, it was suggested at the time was persuaded to join Liverpool from Wimbledon by his friend.
"The main thing was it was Liverpool and not him, but he is a good friend and it always helps when you join a new club.
"I have played with Stig and Henning since I was 18 in the national team. Henning is not the biggest, but he is a good header of the ball, experienced and can read the game well."
