Stalteri's got the know-how
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Paul Stalteri believes he can add to the winning know-how of the squad following his transfer from Werder Bremen.
The Canadian international spent eight seasons at the Bundesliga outfit and, in season 2003-04, was part of the side that swept all before them and won a League and Cup double.
As a result of this success, the 27-year-old sampled Champions League football last term and emerged successfully from a particularly tough group that featured Inter Milan, Valencia and Anderlecht before running into free-scoring Lyon in the last 16.
"We had a great year," recalled the versatile Paul. "It was a building process that took two or three years and last year we got to the stage where we had a great side and won the league and cup.
"It was a fantastic feat and this year was good as well with getting to the second stage of the Champions League. We were right there again but just missed that bit of luck.
"I definitely hope to bring a winning attitude to the team."
Meanwhile, Paul didn't really commit himself when asked which position he actually favours.
"It is a tough question and everybody asks me. I play predominantly at full-back - mostly on the right - but I do like playing in midfield, which is where I play for the national team.
"Sometimes it is fun changing positions and don't particularly have a favourite one.
"I definitely like getting up and down but it all depends on how a particular game is going. I love to go forward and help with attacking, but one of my big strengths is defending.
"I am hopefully a good two-way player who can get involved in the attacks while doing defensive duties as well."
