Spurs weekend preview - Wycombe, Saints, Chelsea and Cardiff...
Fri 27 January 2017, 14:28|Tottenham Hotspur
We've another jam-packed weekend of fixtures across the club. Here's a full run-down of who's in action over the next few days...
First team
SPURS v WYCOMBE WANDERERS
Emirates FA Cup, fourth round
Saturday, January 28, 2017
White Hart Lane, 3pm
We take on Wycombe Wanderers in a competitive match for the first time ever on Saturday, with a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup at stake.
The Chairboys come to White Hart Lane with a 16-game undefeated streak behind them and are fifth in League Two with 43 points.
Our record against lower-league sides in the FA Cup is sound – over the last 20 years we've played 26 matches in the competition against lower-ranked sides, winning 18, drawing five and losing just three times.
Gary Doherty played for both clubs during his career and, here on tottenhamhotspur.com, he's been discussing how Saturday's tie could play out...
Development squad
SPURS v SOUTHAMPTON
Premier League 2
Monday, January 30, 2017
Lamex Stadium, Stevenage, 7pm
We host Southampton in the Premier League 2 at Stevenage on Monday night, knowing that a win would see us leapfrog the Saints in the table and move away from the fringes of the relegation zone.
Coach Ugo Ehiogu is set to make changes with regular starters Shayon Harrison, Connor Ogilvie and Anton Walkes now out on loan, but he’ll be looking for top performances from those players who do take to the field.
We slipped to a 1-0 defeat at St Mary’s in the reverse fixture back in September.
You'll be able to follow the match with live updates on our Twitter account, @SpursOfficial. Tickets will also be available on the night, priced at £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.
Under-18s
CHELSEA v SPURS
Under-18 Premier League
Saturday, January 28, 2017
Cobham training centre, 11.05am
There’s a big test for our Under-18s on Saturday morning as they finally return to domestic action with a trip to Chelsea.
Frozen pitches put paid to last weekend’s game at Arsenal, in addition to the FA Youth Cup tie against Norwich in midweek, meaning the lads are eager to get back into action.
The two sides battled out a 1-1 draw at Hotspur Way earlier in the season.
Elsewhere, we now know that the winners of this coming Thursday’s (February 2) rearranged FA Youth Cup tie with Norwich at Stevenage will be away to Newcastle United in the sixth round.
Spurs Ladies
SPURS LADIES v CARDIFF CITY LADIES
FA Women's Premier League South
Sunday, January 29, 2017
Cheshunt FC, 2pm
Spurs Ladies face a massive test against fellow high-fliers Cardiff City at Cheshunt on Sunday.
Spurs and Cardiff are the only two unbeaten teams in the FA Women's Premier League South this season.
Karen Hills’ side are currently top after nine wins and a draw from their 10 games, whereas Cardiff are third, having played a game less. Coventry, who have also played 10 games but have lost once, are above them on goal difference.
Victory would represent another huge step forward for Spurs – as always, we'll have the latest from the Ladies side here on tottenhamhotspur.com early next week.
