Spurs weekend preview - who's playing where and when...

12 August 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

The start of the 2016-17 season is upon us! Here’s a run-down of who’s playing who this weekend…

First team
Premier League
Saturday, August 13, 2016
Goodison Park, 3pm

After weeks of preparation, we finally herald the return of Premier League football with a tough trip to Goodison Park.

Everton are at the beginning of a new era with ex-Southampton manager Ronald Koeman having taken the helm over the summer, while they also boast some new signings among their number.

We’ve faced the Toffees on the opening day more times than any other side and, judging by Mauricio Pochettino’s pre-match sentiments, the players are determined to start 2016-17 in positive fashion.

Development squad
Premier League 2
Monday, August 15, 2016
Stevenage FC, 7pm

Tickets: £5 adults, £2 concessions via Stevenage FC

Like the first team, the development squad kick-off their 2016-17 campaign against Everton – albeit at home and in a newly-rebranded competition.

The Under-21 Premier League has been replaced by Premier League 2, with the age limit increased from under-21 to under-23.

Coincidentally, the development squad also began last season at home to the Toffees and secured a 4-1 victory on that occasion but, with different players in the frame and the match being played under the floodlights at Stevenage’s Lamex Stadium – where we’ve hosted several matches at this level in recent seasons – the lads will be keen to put on a good performance and enjoy a repeat result.

Tickets are still available via Stevenage FC . Why not pop along and enjoy some Monday night football? If you can’t get to the game, you can follow us on Twitter @SpursOfficial for live updates.

Under-18 Premier League
Saturday, August 13, 2016
Hotspur Way, 11.30am

The Under-18 Premier League season begins in earnest on Saturday morning, with Southampton set to visit the Training Centre.

As always, our youngsters will be keen to produce some bright performances, with our new first-year scholars looking to make an impact alongside some of the second-year campaigners.
