Spurs weekend preview – Bournemouth, Chelsea, Leicester and more...

21 October 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

We're all set for another busy weekend of action on the pitch. Here's a run-down of who is playing where and when.

First team
Premier League
Saturday, October 22, 2016
Vitality Stadium, 12.30pm

We travel to face Bournemouth in Saturday's early kick-off, almost a year to the day since our last visit to the Vitality Stadium.

On that occasion, we ran out convincing 5-1 winners but Cherries boss Eddie Howe told reporters at his pre-match press conference that his players learned from that game, as well as our 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture in March, and are determined to avoid a repeat result this time around.

Interestingly, Bournemouth have lost only once in their last six Premier League games - away to Manchester City - and have won their last three home league games on the spin.

Here on, we've got the inside track on our opponents, courtesy of Paul McNamara of the Bournemouth Daily Echo.

Development squad
Premier League 2
Monday, October 24, 2016
King Power Stadium, 7pm

Our last outing in the Premier League 2 ended in a narrow defeat at the hands of Manchester City at White Hart Lane last week, but our young side put on a brave performance - even after the early dismissal of striker Ryan Loft - to push City all the way.

We'll be hoping to turn performances into points on Monday night, though, as we travel to face the Premier League 2's current bottom side Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

You'll be able to follow the match with live updates on our Twitter account, @SpursOfficial.

Under-18 Premier League
Saturday, October 22, 2016
Hotspur Way, 11am

Following the midweek trip to Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Youth League, our youth players are back on home soil for a London derby against Chelsea in the Under-18 Premier League on Saturday morning.

This fixture usually ends up being a high-scoring affair, but as usual our coaches will be encouraging bright performances from the players as we look to build on last Saturday's 2-0 win at Leicester City.

This game takes place as part of Kick It Out's Academy Awareness Weekend, with academies across the country coming together to promote and recognise Kick It Out, as well as demonstrating young players’ commitment to a game free from discrimination.

Spurs Ladies
FA Women's Premier League Cup
Sunday, October 23, 2016
Cheshunt FC, 2pm

Following a fantastic week that has seen the Spurs Ladies notch a staggering 21 goals across two games in various competitions, Karen Hills' side will be back in League Cup action on Sunday with a second round tie against Enfield Town.

The visitors don't have far to travel with the game taking place at Spurs Ladies' base at Cheshunt FC but, after a 10-0 victory over West Ham United in the last round, Spurs will be hopeful of continuing their momentum at Town's expense.
