Spurs vs Stoke - Tim's preview
28 December 2013|Tottenham Hotspur
Tim Sherwood expects a reaction from Stoke on Sunday - but has underlined the importance of us taking maximum points.
The Potters were beaten 5-1 at Newcastle on Boxing Day, although the scoreline doesn't tell the full story at St James Park as they took the lead before having two men sent off, Newcastle eventually running in four goals in the second half.
Tim is more concerned with how our players perform after our Boxing Day draw against West Brom, when we dominated the second half but couldn't find a winning goal as it ended 1-1 at the Lane.
"We know how important it is that we get three points," said Head Coach Tim.
"Stoke will look to react, we’d expect that. When you get a result like that, as a professional footballer, you want to bounce back straight away.
"Mark Hughes' teams have always traditionally got the ball down and passed it, although I am sure they will be mindful of the style West Brom adopted in successfully putting men behind the ball in order to secure a share of the spoils here.
"It is up to us to break Stoke down and if we can show the quality in the final third that we know we have within our squad, it will stand us in good stead to achieve the win."
