Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching team are excited by the prospect of their first game in the home dugout at the Lane on Saturday.
Our new Head Coach will be joined by Assistant Head Coach Jesus Perez, First Team Coach Miguel D’Agostino and Goalkeeping Coach Toni Jimenez as we take on Bundesliga giants Schalke.
Kick-off is 5.30pm and the game is a sell-out - you can watch a live stream on Spurs TV.
“We are all excited to play in front of our fans for the first time,” said Mauricio. “It’s a very important day for us and one for us all to enjoy.”
Schalke finished third behind champions Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund last season to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League.
Their squad includes German World Cup winners Julian Draxler and Benedikt Howedes, Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and a familiar face in Kevin Prince Boateng, who played 24 times for us between 2007-09.
“Schalke are a very good team, one of the three or four best clubs in the Bundesliga,” added Mauricio. “We expect a tough game.
“We will hopefully follow the same form that we showed in the last game against Celtic and on Tour.
“The last week has been good because all the players who went to the World Cup are now with us, they are working hard but at the moment they are not fit to play tomorrow.
“There are 10 players who will train at the Training Centre, preparing for the first game of the season against West Ham.”
